Peter Goss MBE Born 1961
Served for 9 years up to 1990. Describes his feelings on leaving: "
I don't know what I felt as I walked away form Stonehouse Barracks in
Plymouth except that I had just left a special world full of positive
people who had been fantastic to me". Sailor. In 1996 in the Vendée
Globe round the world race he rescued a French sailor, Raphael Dinelli,
in appalling weather conditions, receiving the MBE and Legion d'Honneur,
and was named Yachtsman of the Year. "Life hangs on a very thin thread
and the cancer of time is complacency. If you are going to do something,
do it now. Tomorrow is too late."
