IRTC

A grant of £534 is available to help offset the cost of training. The principle is that you pay the trainer and then claim back the money from the Service. An advance of IRTC (80%) and subsistence is available on completion of the necessary paperwork.

Subsistence is available to facilitate your preparation. It may be claimed in accordance with normal Service rules ie. Service accommodation is unavailable/unsuitable, you are more than 50 miles/1hours travelling from unit/home or the course is residential. Accommodation for non-residential courses must be secured through Movements. They use the Central Hotel Booking System and, where necessary, will require a non-availability/suitability chit. Current, daily rates (Summer '01) up to Lieutenant Colonel are:

Bed and Breakfast - Actuals up to £50.00

Essential Expenses (EE) £20.00

Personal Incidental Expenses (PIE) £ 2.90
OR
Private Arrangement Rate £25.00 + PIE

Resettlement overseas is paid at UK rates.
