Sometimes referred to as the Education Grant, (currently £175 per annum) are available for Resettlement/Personal Development purposes during the 30-12 month period to TX. During the last year of service, however, they may be used to fund only the following - examinations for nationally recognised qualifications as listed in 'British Qualifications', qualifications recognised by professional/awarding bodies or an S/NVQ. Initially costs are borne by the Service leaver and claimed (80%) upon completion. Those who do not qualify for IRTC may use SLCs during their last year to fund Resettlement activities.

The Individual Learning Account (ILA). This scheme has been suspended and an alternative has yet to be announced by the government.
