The White Ensign Association Ltd - www.whiteensign.co.uk, a registered charity sponsored by eminent people, mainly from the City. It assists both serving and retired officers and ratings from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, WRNS and QARNNS providing:

Financial advice on savings and investments, life assurance, house purchase, school
fees etc
Advice on financial concerns including the use of capital provided by terminal grants
and commutation.
Assistance with CVs.
Advice on job finding and self-employment.
Circulates the CVs of those interviewed to large companies interested in recruiting
former Naval personnel.

The Officers' Association (OA) is part of the CTP. It has an effective employment department looking after the needs of officers seeking civilian employment in management, sales, marketing, personnel, administration and training. Access is through CTP registration. General advice is always available by arrangement but you should arrange a registration interview some 6 months before your release date. The Regular Forces Employment Association (RFEA), also part of the CTP, helps find employment for those leaving the Armed Forces. With a network of 30 consultants located throughout the UK, it has close links with employers, Jobcentre Plus and the Learning Skill Councils (formerly TECs).

Whilst serving, access is via the CTP who will inform the RFEA that you are leaving but nonetheless, you should contact your local branch a few months before you leave. To register post discharge, you must contact them.

The Royal Marines Association - owww.rmcharities.freeuk.com. The RMA is made up of hundreds of our colleagues who enjoy the comradeship of other like-minded people. It not only offers a broad range of support to former Royals eg, the disabled, the distressed and needy, it maintains traditions, supports the Corps and has a strong social aspect. In turn, the Corps supports it. For information and advice contact your local branch.

The Royal British Legion - www.britishlegion.org.uk exists to help all those who have served in the Armed Forces and their families by:

Supporting the ex-Service community in need
Caring for those who have suffered injury/illness from military service and advising on
the pursuit of War Disability Pensions.
Providing convalescent facilities and care for the elderly
Offering employment, housing and medical support for the disabled
Providing skills assessment and vocational training to assist Service and ex-Service
person secure employment
Advising on business start-ups and finance
Training London taxi drivers.
